Schengen visa is a document that its holder can use to travel to a Schengen country. The Schengen area includes 25 countries. The Schengen visa is a common travel document for all these countries. Once you have a Schengen visa, you can travel within the Schengen area.
Schengen visa types
Schengen visa comes in foud basic types.
Schengen visa type A is a airport transit visa. This Schengen visa allows you to transit through the international zone of a Schengen airport without entering the Schengen territory.
Another Schengen visa is that visa type B, called transit visa. This Schengen visa allows you to transit no more than 5 days through Schengen countries by car, coach, or traveling through different airports on your way to another non-Schengen country.
The most common Schengen visa is the type C. Type C Schengen visa is a short stay visa. This visa allows you to visit the Schengen countries for tourism, family, or business visits. The limitation is up to a maximum of 90 days in a given 180 days period.
The last Schengen visa is type D. Type D is a long stay visa. This visa allows you to stay for more than 3 months. This Schengen visa can be used for study, work, etc.
